Spring 2011 hottest trend is a mixed bag of bold colors. Mix and match bright citrus hues like juicy orange, happy lemon and coral pink alongside cool shades of turquoise and blue as well as soothing neutrals like cream, peach, tan and white. If you’re taking your first steps in adding a colorful item to your wardrobe, better do it with a unique accessory, such as Me’Dusa bags and jewelry.
Israeli designers Gili Rozin and Adi Singfer, graduates of the Jewelry Design Department of Shenkar College, founded the Me’Dusa (Hebrew for jellyfish) in 2009. Their mutual work began during their studies, and led them to be finalists in the ITS#8 competition in Triest, Italy. After an extensive material research, they realized that working with plastic will allow them the innovation they were looking for, and will provide them with a realm in which to express the imagination and abundance that can be found in their inspirations – nature and the sea.
The technique itself is not traditionally used for jewelry and accessories – they use processed plastic and combine it with metals. The results are beautiful, colorful bags, clutches, wallets, necklaces, cuffs and earrings. We just love them for the wonderful, bold colors (the coral clutch and yellow and blue necklaces are our favorites), and for the texture, which just makes us want to touch each item in these photos below.
